Yeah, he's a top ref, you know the fight isn't going to be ruined by the man in the middle when he's in there. The fact that he doesn't let the house fighter do whatever they want is probably the reason why he doesn't seem to get the biggest fights. atsch

 

Man which one is Ritchie Davis? I got him mixed up with Dave Parris in my head.

Yeah, I like Richie Davis - the best British ref out there.

 

the Saunders situation was brilliant, simply put and not in so many words "don't **** with me!"

 

Richie is my favorite ref, but he never seems to get the big fights.

 

They are one and the same. When the refereeing is good, we call him Ritchie Davis, but when its crap we blame Dave Parris.

 

Yes Richie's a great ref and a great guy. When my hip went during my fight with Ossie Duran, Richie came over to the corner and said, "Jamie i'm stopping it, I don't want you gettin hurt", I said give me one more round, but in reality I couldn't hold my weight properly on it. He said that if I was in trouble he'd stop it. I got caught with a big right hand and he stopped it straight away, and whispered "told you you should have let me stop it son!". He's a lovely guy and me, my Missus and my Mum and dad had a great night with him and his Missus at the BBBofC awards dinner this year.

Davies is a great ref. No nonsense. I always get the impression he gets full respect from the fighters in the ring.

 

I think you fought my Mrs brother as well yrs ago.

 

Deffo one of if not the best ref we've got, honest as the day is long and from the comments on here he's a nice guy to boot. Just a pity he's a cockaknee
