    Fair enough. I think Pacquiao beat the best version of Marquez, as it has since been noted that the version Mosely beat was suffering with weight trouble. The version Santos beat was coming up in weight and probably not as strong at the new weight, and the version Williams beat hadnt had much big fight experience.
    The version of Margarito that fought Pacquiao, was fighting at a weight where he should have been more comfy and has now had some big fight experience

    I really dont see how people are putting the Mosley one down, just IMO.

    First of all, its fairly common knowledge that Margarito had to lose crazy weight due to bloating in between fights for Mosley, to the point his own trainer thought he was screwed. Second, he went in there with the 'wtf just happened' mentality of having been caught with his trainer trying to load his gloves, that would play on anyones mind.

    Third, he was coming off a fight with Cotto that for all intents and purposes, there is no reason to think he ever truly recovered from. People just dismiss the Cotto fight it seems from having any effect on Marg because he wasnt cut, wasnt truly hurt in the traditional sense, and won the fight. Cotto battered Margos brain about BADLY those first 7 rounds.... that kind of fight shaves off some shelf life off of fighters.

    Not quite sure how that all adds up to that Margarito being the best version......

    i would say cotto did the first 6 rds! even though cotto didnt win he fought a loaded gloves margarito who also was in the best shape i had ever seen him....cotto wouldve have the biggest win over marg to date

    what about the hydrocuts fiasco? Does that count as pre fight distractions? Seemed to be a lot of hooplah prior to the pac fight. Also the noted issues with making the catchweight. But I guess all that don't count

    i honestly dont know how anyone can put pacman as the best version of margo. margo has been badly knocked out, been very inactive, and is without a meaningful win in 2 years.

    the other 3 have strong cases. i say mosley because pre-fight mosley had no chance. but i can accept people saying williams and santos.

    Every other version of marg was considered pretty much the best ww in the world. Pac fights a guy not winning a ranked opponent in 2 years

    I think people tend to forget Margarito Himself took a hell of a beating in the Cotto fight and he was obviously Not the same fighter afterward , nor was Cotto. But If he wasnt loading his gloves Cotto probably wins that fight and Margaritos best win in non existent.
