If Macklin looses the contract will get signed but if Macklin wins I can see Barker pulling out and going after Macklin instead.

    Barker will be dissapointed then.

If Macklin wins he fights Andy Lee at the O2 Arena in Dublin before Christmas.

I thought you couldn't fight for a Euro title coming off a loss so how have the EBU made him mando?

You say this like it is a fact. I'm assume it's guesswork.

There is only one assumption in there and it's a big assumption to be honest and that is that Macklin beats Sturm.

I'm sure he's terrified of someone 20 leagues below him.

Doesn't mean it's 100% though. Macklin might want an easy defence or two. Lee is a very tough fight for Macklin. I highly doubt he will get past Sturm mind you, I agree that Lee-Mack makes sense though.

Sturm is a big task for Macklin. But to think he would 100% jump straight into a fight with Andy Lee who would be the favourite in my opinion is brave. The fight would be huge in Ireland but i think Matt would want to have a few comfortable defences before going into another big fight providing he beats Sturm.

I think Macklin fancies his chances against Lee. Plus there would be options and should Lee win we would see it all happening again. Cash cow!

Don't know alot about Irish boxing history but this surely would be one of the biggest fights in the history of Irish boxing. Both tough with good chins. Boxer vs Brawler, guaranteed to be an entertaining fight wouldn't mind seeing that twice! I could imagine the crowd would be behind Lee because of Macklin being born in Birmingham.
