Top posts Kalasinn, i agree with you, Holy fought like the true warrior & credit to him.....BUT---Did anybody else notice the sudden resurgence of Tyson in round 3??? He was throwing HUGE shots at holy, with every ounce of energy he could muster...You can see the concentration & effort in his face, he wanted to make it an all-out war....ive watched both fights so many times ive lost count, & i swear tyson threw a hook in that 3rd round with such ferocity that both his feet lifted off the ground while he threw it, like he put soo much behind it hoping it would connect....


This is the fight where i wish mike DIDNT have the meltdown, because the angry, show-no-mercy,fight to the death Tyson of old was definately there up until the bite ...

 

Holyfield's chin & durability overall deserve a tribute they really do. He was as tough as an angry pitbull.

I feel the same. Imagine the Tyson of the Ruddock fights against the Holyfield of the Tyson fights? What war would that have been!

 

I think Tyson brushed off that first cut and he did have a nice round 3. When it happened for the second time, is when Tyson basically felt in his mind he couldnt win or wasnt getting a fair shake and thats when he looked to get out.

He didn't figure Holyfield out, Tyson was doing well that round but Holyfield had his moments, he did well in the first 5rounds in the first fight too. But down the stretch he got battered because he couldn't maintain it. He was never going to maintain what he was doing in round 3

Tyson might have been going for last throw of the dice, but then again he may have just tried to foul out

 

Tyson was in much better "boxing condition" in the second fight. He was a career high against Holyfield in the first fight, and admittedly didnt take him seriously not to mention he had one of the two Tokyo clowns running his corner in Jay Bright. Richie Giachettie was at least a boxing guy.

Tyson was doing ok in that third round,until he started to get confused with dinner time. But no,there was no way that he would have won that rematch. Similar ending to the first one.
