Anyone Remember him? Shocked at how little his name gets mentioned on here really. He was in some thrilling bouts

I remember him fighting in Nottingham packing out the leisure centre up there beating some pretty decent fighters at the time.

He retired for whatever reason which was a shame. He runs his own boxing academy now.

He had a great following and exciting style and was a joy to watch.

Even Called out by the Late Vernon Forrest

Got me reminicing about the late 90's/00's man...so many great fights and fighters who never fought. :fire:-(

Yea I remember him, held the IBO title. He had a decent punch and was a little chinny from what I remember. Was a taxi driver and I heard he quit and had his own firm or something.

The reason fighters like him don't get mentioned is because they never fought each other. The Light Middleweight division was a disgrace and Sky should take most of the blame for letting it happen. I remember Steve Roberts banging on about fighting De La Hoya at some pokey football ground the twat. They all ended up getting beaten by people most hadn't ****ing heard of (Sergio being one who staged a mini invasion back then) and all we ended up with was Takaloo V's Alexander, which was a fight fight but both were past their bests by then.

He was driving the taxi I got a lift home in once. I would say he barely tolerated my pissed up ramblings. Understandable really.

Ye he was at the Bunce Live show in Nottingham a year or so back apparently he only came because when Bunce got a taxi from the train station Jawaid's brother just happened to pick him up and asked what he was doing in Nottingham and gave him Jawaid's number to come to the show.

He actually fought and ko'd Takaloo too, vicious left hook if i rememebr correctly, but the Bergman fight was a classic, I think it was one of his last fights too.

Lmao@ the Vernon Forrest video, remember that very well, shame the fight never came off, I think an unmotivated Forrest would have been for the taking.

Remember seeing glimpses of this guy back in the day when my interest in Boxing wasn't as good as it is now. Nice to see the guy has a lot of respect on here. Shame he quit Boxing early. Will be checking out some of his fights later.

I read on a magazine years ago that he made more money out of his taxi company then he did out of boxing, bergman was a pretty good fighter back in the day
