Why didn't you do Marciano's "bum" percentage?

Earlier fighters are going to suffer under this system, because their opponents records are incomplete.

Charles 2x, Louis, Moore, Walcott 2x, Lastarza 2x, Matthews, Layne, Cockell, Vingo, Lowry 2x, Savold, Reynolds, Shkor, Beshore, Muscato are definitely not tomato cans.

That leaves 30 sub par guys..not 40 like you claim.

Reynolds, Shkor, Beshore, Muscato and Lowry were club fighters and Vingo a complete, unknown, unproven entity. Forty is the number and I'm far from the first guy that quoted this.

A lot of people give Ali and Foreman stick for some of the men that they fought, while forgetting that Tyson, for example fought two complete jokes in McNeely and Mathis mini-me when he got out of chokey !

    Forty sounds about right.

I was absolutely astounded when I studied the records of Marciano's opponent.

Quite a few of his opponents had LOSING records!

IIRC, Marciano fought three straight fights against guys with losing records, not too long before he fought for the title.

One guy on Rocky's resume wound up with around FIFTY losses.

    Unbelievable.

not his 3rd and 4th fights with bobby quin and eddie ross. Those two were unbeaten. al weil wanted to see if rocky (who would not move to new york) was worth financing. The canadian ross had a lengthy win streak depending on the source.

All champions enjoyed good matchmaking. Earn while you learn and all that. Rocky was outweighed 27 times, he actualy had it quite tough as a contender. To think a lot of contenders become contenders without beating a contender.

who would it suprised if a fighter beat the same guy 20 times to make a 20-0 record then made somebodys ratings?

How do you know that the missing fights weren't agianst mostly bums? Unrecorded likely mean those fights were less significant and bum probability is likely.

How do you know how many of those unrecorded fights werent losses?

Earlier fighters are going to suffer becuase they fought 4 round exhibitions and sparring sessions against local tough guys/bums and called them proffessional fights
