Slipped under mine too mate. That's the unfortunate thing with the fight being scheduled a week before the biggest heavyweight fight in yonks.

 

I doubt the lack of interest is because of Macklin raising the flag for Ireland, Rhodes didn't get much either. Its just come at a time when DeGale V's Groves and Froch came before it and the Klitschko V's Haye hype machine is moving into top gear so for a guy like Macklin who has never been a huge draw the timing was awful. As for hardcore boxing fans, if I'm anything to go by Macklin has been looking **** for a contender of late and all the BS arguments about nationality have dampened my interest in the build up. I know his last fight left me feeling underwhelmed and gave me a sense of the inevitable about not being able to move onto better things. I'll be watching though and if he puts in a Burns V's Martinez performance then I'll be going nuts. Macklin V's Lee on a Martinez undercard would be mega.

Mackin has little to no chance of victory, won't win on points even if he deserved it and i can't see him getting the KO.

I've had 40 quid on Sturm by KO, 10/3 the odds were.
