    He last fought in 1945, and was murdered the same year. So, no, I dont remember him. I wsn't even born. My father wasn't even born !
    John Garfield is possibly a poster here who might remember him. But it's 63 years ago now.

    But, yes, he is remembered in the sense that his name lives on in boxing.
    A good fighter and his notorious fight with Zivic which was a complete foul-fest. Not the only time he was involved in one either.

    Man ... "Bummy" Davis?!

    What a fighter he was, in and outside of the ring. Blizted Bob Montgomery in one round, to the shock of the crowd. Lost a brutal contest to Fritzie Zivic. Never in a bad fight, had a left-hook from hell. Tragic tale, as far as how his life ended.

    Wonder if any of his fights are on tape?:huh
