Chad Dawson based on his speed and advantages from the outside, but other than that...nah. He beats Tarver, Woods, Johnson, Diaconu, Erdei, Drews, and the rest of the lot. I'd actually like to see him fight Pavlik since I believe Calzaghe will fight Jones. Hopkins would put on a CLINIC so it would be a great way to go out with a win.

What really surprised me was the dance of Joe Calzaghe as Bernard was bending over, "no white boy is going to beat me.......but he can put his dick in my ass and dance a little"
I knew it's gonna be competitive and rounds will be closely contested but I picked Bhops via SD. JC's top conditioning paved off, he is fast on his feet and punches until the last round. I had it 115 -112 for JC.
Thanks bro. I cant for the life of me understand the posters trying to take credit away from EITHER MAN. They are two of the top guys in the division...two of the top guys of the era...and two of the top guys ever (top 100 easily). So Joe looked like less of a fighter fighting against the best fighter he has ever fought. What else did these people expect. Maybe now they can understand how Hopkins didnt look like SRR against Winky...the same type of fighter (who's style doesnt allow you to look good). And so Bernard looked like he couldnt catch up with the speed. So he lost more rounds than he won...vs one of the best (Roy is the only fighter I feel is better than Joe on Hopkins resume) he has ever faced. The people expecting this to be a DESTRUCTION were mistaken. And I think this speaks volumes to how disappointed they were with their predictions...not necessarily the fighters.
It was a real close fight. Alot of Joe's work wasn't landing clean as he was just busy. Mind you I have no issue with him getting the decision as I can't stand guys who throw one punch and cover up/hold the rest of the way. Hopkins' diabolical plan almost worked though. Shitty fight all around. I think I'd rather not see another Hopkins performance as long as I live. Same with Calzaghe who is quickly turning into another spoiler.
I'm slamming Calzaghe mainly because I'm not a fan, and am shamelessly having a hell of a time rubbing it in everyones' faces that Hopkins was made this so close. But I agree.. this fight being so close is more a testament to Hopkins greatness.. it's not a matter of Calzaghe just being a shitbum whose finally been exposed.
I think heavy was only an option if a slower, flatfooted, smaller HW took a title. For example if Sultan had somehow miraculously taken out Wlad... I dont think its really an option to consider now. This was mentioned by Bernard (either Sultan or Maskaev), but I dont think was ever serious. Now I could see him taking on Johnson or Jones (tho I dont wanna see it...)...or Dawson (who I think he would dominate). Who knows...if that one happens, and he wins, we may see another Calzaghe - Hopkins next year. But I would rather see him hang them up. And I HATE typing those words. :verysad
I had it 115-112 for Joe....I just can't understand how people take umbrage to people scoring it close for Joe.This was a very hard fight to score and what was seen as agression on Joe's part really wasn't that making that much of a impact.He won by simply throwing more punches.But for the most part, Bernard was able to make Joe fight at his pace, which was expected. Tough grind it out win for Calzaghe
But if a slower Johnson (both hand and footspeed) can land that right hand and hurt Dawson...how would he be able to handle Bernard's? Pavlik would be a GREAT choice....BTW...and your right would be a CLINIC.
