13 round fights

    i was mentioning sanderline williams on a thread tbooze has going there...

    ( Who was the best fighter to never beat a top 10 contender? )

    and it got me thinking...williams lost a thirteen round split decision to Ronnie Essett...the fight was called a draw after twelve rounds and they boxed another round to determine a winner.....this was for the NABF super middleweight title....even though, and only in boxing could this happen :), the NABF refused to recognize the added round and declared that the title was still vacant :blood


    anyway....my question is...has that scenario happened much ??

    Doug DeWitt beat Tony Thornton over 13 rounds at 1987-11-06
    The result after 12 rds. was a draw so an extra round was fought.
