Look, I'm a huge fan of Pac as my posts over the years will attest. But come on this is total bull****. Pac has NEVER been a legitimate welterweight. Just look at him next to other natural welterweights. He doesn't cut more than a couple pounds (if that) from his walking around weight at 147. Meanwhile most other fighters even older than him still cut far more weight for fights. Pac isn't "old", and he trains hard. No reason he can't make 140 without much effort. Roach knows this, and I bet if you asked Pac he would say the same. This catch weight **** is a contract advantage he doesn't need and just makes this fight more of a lose/lose situation. At least if he goes down to 140 and takes that belt, it's worth something to his legacy. He's not going to get much credit for anything at this bull**** catch weight. Catch weights are ok when you are giving the underdog or smaller guy an advantage. They aren't for the heavy favorite or heavier guy to exploit extra advantages. That's some Floyd bull****.
How the hell is pac-algieri winning this poll? Algieri will be coming up 4 lbs. Marquez was coming up 9. (And had only just gotten to LW, whereas Algieri is a career JWW who has already fought at 143-144).
Okay maybe I misunderstood the question. If we are asking which of the two fights is worse overall, yeah the Algieri fight is worse. If we're asking which CW is worse, than the Marquez CW is way worse. 144lb isn't really handicapping Algieri like it was for Marquez.
