No it isn't. I've been a longtime massive fan of Cotto & Márquez (since long before either of them had a big fan base outside their own countries) and am fully open to calling them out when they act like diva *****es, which is often.

Difference is those guys have drawing power and a fanbase. What's Ward's excuse for having diva demands? :huh

Each fight is different and should be handled on an individual basis. The man is a MW, not a JMW. The man he wants to fight is a World Champion at MW... the weight limit at MW is 160 Lbs., not 155.

As for Ward? He is a SMW World Champ... the weight limit is 168. If Ward wants to refuse to cut down to 164 he can... and he will still be Champ. Whoever is Ward's mandatory is allowed to come in at the limit (up to 168) and Ward would not be able to make his opponent cut weight. If Ward wants to make a fight with Golovkin at 164 he can, simple as that.

As MW Champ, Alvarez should not be able to make these demands. Eventually he should be made to do one of the following-

    1. Allow his opponent to weigh up to 160 Lbs. (If he wants to remain MW Champ).

    2. Vacate the title.

The both fight at MW, the weight limit is 160. What else can you really say? Ward is a SMW, GGG is a MW. Meeting at 164 makes sense but no pressure should be put on Ward if he doesn't want to.
