It's not a secret that TMT buys huge blocks of tickets. The thing is they pay tax on these tickets and buy them at retail so the sales still count. Its a tax write off for them and yeah it helps their numbers look good. I really don't have a problem with this as they are real sales. It's their Money.
Ticketmaster is notorious for having tickets listed to events that are sold out. This was a concern last year during the Super Bowl, Ticketmaster website showed only 84% of tickets sold, yet the event was sold out for numerous monthes.
