do you think they should move heavyweight title fights back to 15 rounds??

yeah i know the division is crap atm but some of the best fights in history have gone 15 rounds. The reason for fighters dying apparently in the ring is according to this quote

""In my opinion, the reason that you hardly ever see fatalities in the heavyweight division is because the big guys don't have to make weight. In many cases, fighters under 150 pounds dehydrate themselves shedding those last few pounds too [sic] make weight. This leaves them vulnerable to brain injuries with a lack a fluid around their skull protecting the brain from crashing against it when they are hit. I believe this is more of a danger than fighters fighting 15 rounds. If I'm wrong, someone please explain why we rarely see heavyweights being killed in the ring? You would think most boxing fatalities would occur in the heavyweight division since they are clearly the most powerful punchers.""

Therefore do you think they should move the distance in the higher divisions back to 15 rounds?

yes they should, the only reason they cut the # down in the first place was due to television scheduling.

i thought it was medical reasons as studies showed that the greatest damage would occur from rounds 13-15.

Someone correct me if me wrong, but thats what i always thought. So if i'm right fights will never go back to 15 rounds.

hmm I'd have to agree on this here, but if the fight went on in some cases like ali/joe III it could of ended really bad for one of them.

but then again its the refs/docs/corner job to stop the fight.

Wishful thinking. If fights were still 15 rounds there may not even be boxing after what happened with Boom Boom Mancini and Korean Kim, it had to change.

It's a good idea to have only the championship fights as 15 rounds though.

12 rounds is enough to see who is better. With todays attention span I'd even cut one or two rounds away.

That would actually be incredibly fun to watch. Or the old, "Fight until someone gets stopped."

Championship fights were meant to be 15 rounds and should never have been changed.

Are there actually any non-championship fights anymore though? So that's be pretty much what the OP wanted!

I'd rather it be 11 rounds. A little more exciting, less draws.
