1910 vs. 1960

1910 vs. 1960. I matched the 1960 Ring magazine annual ratings from 1-5, vs. what could be viewed as the 1910 annual ratings.

Which group do you think takes it under the following rule set: 15 rounds, 20 x 20 ring, 10 point must system, liberal ref for fouls/clinching. Each seed much face each other.

Johnson vs. Liston

Langford vs. Johansson

Jeannette vs. Machen

McVey vs. Folley

Jeff Clark vs Cooper

I like the 1910 group, 3-2

 

I would be fairly confident of Langford beating Johansen, McVea beating Folley, and Clark beating Cooper. The rest of the matches could go either way. I therfore give the edge to 1910.

 

I doubt if Clarke was top 50 in 1910, still close edge to 1910'ers.
