I think its fair to say that Khan needs a bit of a break after saturdays war but on the flip side i also think he should try to get 3 fights in 2011 because the more training camps he gets with freddie the better. All talk of Mayweather is absurd at the moment, Golden Boy need to think of Khan's progress and not jump at the chance of making this money spinning clash. Next I would put him in with Judah, early/mid April in Bolton which would be his homecoming, this gives him the test of fighting a high class southpaw (someone which he still hasnt come across) also this fight would give him the experience if he was to fight Devon Alexander I would then put him in again in the last week of july (before ramadhan) just to keep him ticking against John Murray at the MEN arena, this fight would be quite big in the UK. Finally, if Khan could come unscathed in the previous bouts, i would put him in with the winner of Alexander/Bradley in November/December 2011 at the MGM. Hopefully by this time he could iron out some technical flaws because at this moment i dont think he's quite ready for Alexander/Bradley. Anyway what do you guys think should be the 2011 plan for King Khan?
:think There's an opponent at 147 I hadn't thought of before. And considering the good relationship between Hatton and Golden Boy, as well as Amir and Ricky being close friends, this could easily be made. But in response to the opening post, although I'd prefer it if Khan can get two more fights under his belt before facing the Bradley-Alexander winnner, I don't think HBO will allow that. I think I saw boxing4eva mention in one of his posts, HBO want Khan to face one of them in July of 2011.
There is really no point in rematching Prescott. That was a fight that should have taken place a couple fights back if at all. Judah would be a good stop gap while Bradley/Alexander recover, and then he can meet the winner. That would represent a decent year. Maybe they can squeeze in a fight at 147 at the end of the year.
Prescott>Murray>Ajose>Mccloskey>Mabuza>Brook>Witter>Matt Hatton>Malignaggi II. That should get him thru the next three years, and nobody can complain about him not paying his dues domestically. Then he can fight whoever he wants in the world scene!
July is abit early to fight the winner of Alexander/Bradley, Amir needs a abit more schooling before then
judah -april bradley/alexander -late july ortiz in the uk in winter...then move up to ww 2012 berto or any ww in the top 10 then mayweather is he's ready
i think its wait and see how he recovers from that fight then if he can recover quickly and be ready for a fight in mid/late march then he can squeze a homecoming fight (judah) in before he takes on the bradley - alexander winner , but if not then hell simply have to wait until late june early july and take on the winner anyway if he gets through that then he can seriously start looking at mayweathers legal situation and willingness to fight , if not mayweather then berto if hes still going well at this point
You can't plan boxing in this way there are too many variables, unpredictable things also a happen. The best plan is to take one fight at a time, there is no way you can plan 12 months in advance.
