Can someone tell me where this number comes from for GGG's PPV

Every time I google it the number i see more than any other is 150K

One guy named Rick Glaser--with no named source--claims 97--

But MORE reliable sources such as HBO, ESPN, and others all support the 150K

Still not as high as a Canelo PPV--but it makes me wonder---Why keep stating the 97K when the 150K number has been more reliably been reported?

Same source claims canelo did 390k vs Khan. All other sources claim 490 to 600k

The fact of the matter is most numbers floating around this board regarding fights in the last years are nothing more than hearsay and speculation. HBO stopped giving out official numbers some time ago. The numbers floating around are from guys pretending to be in the know which obviously isn't the case otherwise they wouldn't have such a big variance (see Alvarez-Khan ranging from 390-600k and Oscar saying 700k and multiple other examples). Speculation created out of thin air mostly.

It doesn't matter anymore. That **** only worked for Pac and May because they were both fighting for pole position on who was going to be A side for their fight and it made sense then.

Fighters pulling that mess now is unwarranted. No division in boxing is filled with Superstars anymore, not one. They all are trying to build themselves even the smokescreen that is Canelo Alvarez can't carry a fight on his own if the last 2 guys were pulling in 300k vs Rios and 400k vs Berto.

This money, shell game that De La Hoya is playing was all the same hype he was accusing Mayweather of pulling after May 2nd. The difference is that 160 does not have the talent level of 147.

Alvarez is on his own and has to either fight or ****. He is doomed at 154 and 160.

I thought the same source said 322ish for Canelo/Kahn? Either way I believe 500-600 is probably more accurate given the tradition of that weekend and big PPV buys.

My point is that source traditionally gives lowered estimates. I usually just take the average between all reported numbers, so 125 for GGG and 450 for Canelo

Wikipedia is definitely not fully trustworthy but they at leas seem to use the same resources to get their numbers. I use their information as a reference point.

At this point it's just a running joke to say 97K.

Most know that 150K is closer to the real number but the truth isn't funny.

This is it. And all you got to do is not buy unless it's a good match up. Send a message
