  1. Who did he beat to win the world title in the ring?

    Must have been abroad when he won that fight.

    He inherited the title, just as Clev did and just as many others have also - and he defended it.

    Listen, I was never a big follower of Arthur but he accomplished a lot more than any "ordinary" fighter would.

    It was an interim belt ffs. He beat the mighty Koba Gogoladze, before struggling against Foster and then losing the belt in his next fight. :lol:

    Good luck to Alex in his retirement. Great bloke and cracking British champion. Did he win the Lonsdale outright? Hope so.

    He was fringe world/upper euro level fighter and the best scots boxerr of recent years bar harrison and burns. is a decent pundit too.

    Arthur - Gomez is the fight which got me back into boxing!
