I thought I'd put myself to use on the forum rather than trolling Wilder (it is funny though).

Aaron Pryor...the more I watch him - the more I become a fan. I was just watching legendary nights and I'd love your opinions.

-Where you do you rate Pryor for fighters at 140 in history?
-Do you think Leonard ducked him?

It is a hbo show after all. I think Pryor had merit to face Leonard as the 140 champ (I.e Duran moving up and got the fight) but I don't think Leonard ducked anyone.

I would have loved to have seen that fight!!

Kostya Tsyzu and Pryor are my favourite 140 fighters.

I agree with the points above...so who would you take - Pryor or Leonard at 147?

The best of Leonard and Duran would beat Pryor. As formidable as Pryor was as an offensive force he was also crude and lacking defensivley. There's currently a thread over in the classic on Duran vs Pryor.

Love Pryor and I simply hate sugar Ray Leonard as a human being but at 147 Ray would stop Proyor inside of 3 rounds.

I dont think ray leonard feared any boxer. However I do recall dundee saying he would not put his fighter in with a crazy man. A offer was made to pryor which was really in my opinion insulting 80/20 purse split which was rejected by the pryor camp. Now somebody in the leonard camp was scared of hawk time.

regardless of stature the little hawk found a way to out jab and beat tommy hearns in the amatures, and Alexis Arguello in the pros. watching his technique it was not exactly text book and still I will watch a fight and ask how the hell can he do that. Pryor is a great fighter one of my favorites.

I read and have no idea where now...That Pryor v Leonard was signed but Leonard retired due to eye problems. After a few years off then Hagler became the focus.

hated him for a long time. i was 15 when he beat my all time favorite fighter, arguello. i took it hard, that was the last time i cried as a child. i later got to meet him and we briefly talked about the 2 fights and i was surprised at the genuine affection he felt for my childhood idol.
i am a big fan of the hawk, now, and i think at his best at 140, he could beat any fighter in history on any given night.
