I ko'd a fighter who was once rated among the top five heavyweights and later co-starred in a very popular and successful TV show. Who am I?

I know Jackie Gleason was KO'ed by Tony Galento, or at least that is what he said. I also know that Jack Palance lost to Joe Baksi. Also, Robert Conrad had several pro bouts

Stallone KO Tommy Morrison or 'Tommy Gunn' as he was known in the film! ;)

Initially, I thought the answer was Lee Canalito...but I don't see anyone top 5 in his resume and he was in Magnum PI once.

Canalito was managed by Sylvester Stallone once and trained by Angelo Dundee. Retired undefeated and has a gym in Houston.

I now realize this is a real tough one as this actor is well known to me but probably would not be to younger folks and maybe even to older ones. I will give some clues:

    1. He was a co-star (not the main star) of a popular TV action melodrama which was made into a movie in the 1980's with top stars and director. Although set in America, one of these stars was not American.

    2. He appeared in quite a few movies and once appeared with Humphrey Bogart

    3. This actor frequently played a Native American on TV and in the movies.

    4. The hit TV show this actor appeared in had a very famous narrator.

Did this happen in a real boxing match, or did it happen out in the street or some other place?
