If Adamek wasn`t engaging how is it that he threw and landed more shots than Arreola. How is it that he won the fight clearly in Arreola`s back yard.
He will give 100% and risk it all against Vitali. This content is protected This content is protected This content is protected This content is protected
An exciting fighter at Cruiser, I which he would have stayed there, would have loved to have watched him in some exciting match ups there. At Heavy Weight however, he's a bit of a bore I'm afraid and a has no power to hurt anyone.
Name one fight in which Adamek was just trying to preserve. You don`t know Adamek, he is nothing like Haye. He will leave it all in the ring.
Against Vitali, power is irrelevant. Heck, you just saw how relevant Haye`s supposed power was against Wlad. I would sure as hell bet Haye and Booth would trade in power for proper technique, volume and ring intelligence in that fight.
I've seen him on the backfoot more than ever at heavyweight. I know he's not like Haye, but Vitali is going to make it near impossible for Adamek to do anything. He's too big, too long, and too good at controlling the distance between them. Adamek won't be able to do much and I think he'll be more defensive as the fight goes on, just trying to pick his spots to jump in every now and then.
He ran away and took pot shots all night. I'm not being harsh on him, that's what happend, and I'm not talking Mayweather fighting off the back foot movement here, he simply took a shot then ran to the other side of the ring.... Arreola then plodded across to the side Ademek run... then Adamek took another pot shot then ran to the other side of the ring... seriously, it was a borderline farce of a fight in my eyes. I think Adamek was an exciting fighter at CW, I'd have loved to have seen him in some great fights there, but at HW, in my opinion, it's all a bit of a farce. Unless they are exceptional in other departments (which Adamek isn't at HW), I'm not someone who can get too excited about a heavy who can never hurt anyone with a punch.
Take a look at this HL and try and tell me that Adamek just threw one punch, ran, and potshotted. Everything he threw was in combination and he got in plenty of exchanges. Seriously watch.. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EeCGUpqJakY[/ame] edit - changed to a better hl video
I'd put them on about the same level. The Valuev fight was a real bore, no doubt, personally I think Haye fought better against Wlad taking into account the quality of the opponent. The only difference I suppose between the Valuev-Haye fight and Arreela- Adamek is that one was for the HW title so there was a lot more on the line.
Just read a scene piece where Vitali promised his Adamek showdown will not be boring. I guess by making this statement, Vitali is, in an indirect way, calling Wlad vs. Haye boring............(ahem), although I didn't think it was. Anyway........ After the Briggs fight didn't end in a KO, Vitali was refocused on bringing back his KO power. All we've seen since that refocus is the Solis first round KO. I think we'll see Vitali put the hammer on Adamek in a big way and it'll end in a decisive KO.
I stopped up and watched the whole fight, did you? I don't need to watch chosen clips of a tiny segment of the fight. Genuinely, I'm not hating on Adamek, but it was one of the most frustratingly boring fights I can remember over the last few years. Maybe I'm just biased against heavies who can't throw a hurtful punch.
