Golota is a good fight for him to take in Poland but hopefully he gets back on with tough fights in future. At least the guy has fought some top rated guys.

Golota is not a tough fight????

Adamek is a natural light heavyweight, maximum a cruiserweight. I cant believe he's fighting such good BIG man.
    why? what for?

i wont be surprised if golota ktfo of adamek

The fight is gonna be absolutely huge in Poland. A lot of money and fame in it for Adamek in his homeland if and when he wins.

It's a money/marketing fight. He expects the Poles to come out like never before. Adamek needs to start making some legacy fights. I'm not sure if beating this Golota does anything for him. Golota hasn't fought in 2 years and when he did he was poor and it was less than a round. Prior to that he hadn't fought in 11 months. Plus this Golota isn't the Golota of the mid-90's.

    Nothing wrong with that.

Seems a pretty bold move to me to take on a guy the size of Golota. I know he's seen better days but Adamek is in no way a heavyweight.

Then again, Adamek does want to eventually go up to heavyweight and this probably is the perfect testing ground. He fights a big fighter who is a name but has seen better days. Golota will still have the height, reach and strength. Those are the sort of things Adamek will want to see if he can handle.

Gimmick fight. Would much prefer to have seen him fight Hopkins, I really don't see Adamek being able to compete with the heavies.

I'm sure Adamek would be willing to fight Hopkins if the terms were right. Seemed like Hopkins was low balling him if the reports were right. He has to remember Adamek has the Poles support and the fan friendly style, and he is recognised as the best cruiserweight so you can't just offer him some pittance.

Hopkins spoke about this candidly. Adamek's team didn't even come up with a counter offer. I think part of the problem is HBO's budget also. It seems they're interested in the fight but not until next year. Maybe if they weren't paying that prima donna so much for his mismatch comeback fight we could actually get some decent fights of genuine intrigue on. Mosley v Berto would be another.

It is pretty sad that the only way Adamek can get a decent payday is to take on Golota....he should be making his legacy at crusierweight....not heavyweight against a shot mad man.

That being said i'll definitely be watching if i can

Adamek would be a top 10 heavyweight if he bilked up properly. Size isn't as important as some think.
