Just seen Martin Bakole has signed an advisory deal with MTK, still with billy as trainer and manager, hopefully bully can answer this; Mehta is the point of an advisory role that seems to appear all the time in boxing, surely they are doing the managers job and taking an extra % from a fighters purse? not sure I see the point if you have managers/promoters already and just and extra cost?
I would imagine there would be cash incentives for Martin to sign, such as covering training and living expenses in the short term.
Often they split the commission in the same way co promotional deals tend to work. For instance if it’s 15% management fees likely MTK Will plot it with Billy 7.5% each or 5% and 10%. Billy Will still take a cut as trainer also. But usually with a larger management company they will in theory negotiate higher purses as they will play the market and also work on commercial and sponsorships to bring the fighter additional revenue. my guess is Martin’s Matchroom contract is due up and MTK Will now go to the market with their links to Matchroom, too rank, Queensbury to secure the best promotional deal for him. it was hard enough for billy to get the Matchroom deal for Martin in the first place but based on his likely real age. Martin Will know his next contract is the biggest of his career and therefore will want to maximise it.

Think it’s a round about way saying they’ll pull some strings and get him some big money fights but they want a cut for doing so.
