Do you think that he will retire? I think that he looks for a big payday in a unification fight. Probably against Wlad, who is the biggest money draw in the division.

I can see him beating Valuev today...and if so, he'll want to fight Wlad.
Wlad has belts, it's the biggest money fight out there, and Holyfield needs the money.

I would hate to see Wlad - Holyfield. At this stage Evander would take a one sided beating and unfortunately I don't see him getting past Valuev. If he does, I think he should call it a day. I'm suprised that a man that was once described as 'having enough money to air condition hell' is in financial difficulty - if the rumours are true. I was hooked on Holyfield's glory nights growing up and it's sad to see him carry on losing to people he would have creamed in his prime.

It's more than rumors, it's the truth. His house was almost foreclosed on, but I think he has worked out some sort of payment plan.

I know he has like 15 babies mammas to pay support to, but his house was around $10 million. He has reportedly made over 300 million in his career, after taxes that's still $150 million. And he didn't have $10 million cash to pay for the house upfront? Poor money management.

I don't think Holyfield will get a chance to fight either of the Klitschko's. Undoubtedly, he will have to fight Chagaev to determine the true WBA champion - and will be outboxed soundly.

So, no, he won't retire yet and will keep going and going as old fighters often do - until someone knocks him out of the ring.

Valuev is too huge for old man Holy. Hopefully, Evander will win and retire on a winning note. Which is both doubtful, as the winning (should Holy, by a miracle do it) would be like an addictive drug that will entice him to fight some more--till he finds too late he's a vegetable...

    No way in hell.

Not only will he not retire, but it'll probably give him the motivation to carry on even if he gets battered in his next fight.

holyfield moves like there is cement in his feet and I don't think he has the power to bother Valuev. I see Valuev winning a boring UD or possibly tko.

Holy might retire because there's no way he's winning this one. Valuev is gonna knock his ass out.

I hope he loses because people already clown the HW division as it is now.

If Holy wins at 46, people will not take either of the Klitschkos seriously because of the lack of competition which is a shame because they are great fighters.

George Foreman did it during Holyfield's era.

@sugarngold: Is this Cung Lee in your Avatar?

To the thread, i think the chance that Evander gets past Valuev is very, very slim....
But if he can pull out an upset, well i think he will go for the Klits, they mean money and Evander needs it...
