Age

Im 21 and will be 22 in mid October....Is it to late for me to start boxing amateur and try to turn pro later on down the line....I trained for about 2 months before I moved to another state and just found a couple of Gyms that I heard were good gyms....Jus wanted to know if that was to late or not? Thanks

Ok Thanks for the input, because when I was in Delaware training before I moved to Georgia in only those 2 months I was training my trainers were telling me they thought I could be the best boxer to 2 ever come out of the state because of my natural abilities and everything just clicked for me when I started but again thank you guys for your input.

 

No, your still only a baby yet. Some people start when there near 40. Rocky Marciano didn't start boxing till he was 20, Nate Campbell started at 24 and Glen Johnson started at 20. If you have talent and dedication in boxing no one can hold you back. You can take a guy who's been boxing since he was 4, but if he hasnt got the talent he wont achieve ****. If you have it, your never too old. You just gotta believe in yourself brother.

Ron Lyle didn't start until late. Boxed in prison and left when he was 28 to start his amatuer career. Beat shavers, ellis, bonovena almost beat Ali and Foreman.

 

I started when I was 21. Now I'm 23 and have 24 fights. Planning to go pro pro in late 2012/early 2013.

I'm 24, been in and out of the boxing gym, since about 10 years old. But i was competing at a high level in another sport track and feild, so this kind of took first place. At 18 years, i sustainned a groin injury, but still trainned and competed at 70% and this beat me up inside. And since then ive never fully dedicated to any sport, always vowed a comeback, but i think it's time before i'm too old to fullfill a ambition in boxing.

I want to have about 10 amatuer fights, and win everyone of them by knock-out.

Then turn pro..

Then get Bo Jackson on people's asses, and switch sports once again.

 

Turn pro now, why are you wasting your time....having these pointless amatuer bouts.
