Forget all the other nonsense. What do you guys think about this fight?

Povetkin is well passed his best and off the juice now and if Joshua fights like he did against Parker will Povetkin be able to get inside the Jab? Even if he does Joshuas inside game isn't too shabby neither.

Povetkin needs to get in close and work the body early, but can he do it?

AJ to win via KO in 8 rounds.

Povetkin looked terrible against Hammer and Price. He looked like an old man in there who has lost his athletic edge and sharpness.

When you add his age (38) to his lack of PEDs this will not end well for him.

I don’t think Povetkin will be effective on the inside. Regardless of whether he steps back and uses the upper cut, or leans on and holds, he neutralises Povetkin.

Unless pov is back on the peds i cant see him turning aj over. At 38 and slowing down a bit i can only see an aj win. Echoing what has already been said really

I think Povetkin is still a very dangerous fighter. He systematically dismantled Price (despite the huge size and weight disparities) with head and body combinations. The first shot that took Pricey down was a sweet shot, and the second was ruthless. That was a much better version of Price than the one that faced Hammer. He got into great shape and really went for it. Povetkin will move in and out of range to engage, he will not run and he will be looking for that big shot.

AJ just needs to keep him at the end of his jab and make him swallow the straight right but working closer I feel Povetkin has a potential left hook KO in his locker. This fight all depends on AJ and how he plans his tactics but Povetkin will fight as usual with hands up high and plodding forward.

I agree but I wouldn’t say Povetkin is a plodder, is feet ain’t the fastest but his upper body movement offers him different angles. He will eat some shots coming in though, that’s inevitable against AJ.

Povetkin will be 39 by the time the fight happens, his footspeed has slowed noticably and his stamina is that of an 8 round fighter.

In his best days we know he was on performance enhancing drugs such as in the Takam fight where he had unlimited stamina.

In fights where he was off them such as Rudenko, Hammer he just looked basic and unimpressive, I'd wager he wasnt on PED'S vs Huck either and he almost caught a scare there.

Then he gets brought over here to fight David Price, and I mean come on now, David Price. Can you IMAGINE if Joshua fought David Price and had that exact same fight with him?

    Can you IMAGINE?

Imo If povetkin is to have any chance at all it'll have to be early.

Povetkin has an advantage in combination punching, I see that as pretty much his only advantage, that and maybe chin but im not 100% on that.

    Joshuas advantages:

Height, reach, power, jab, stamina, footspeed.

So Povetkin is either going to have to attack very early or hope joshua makes a mistake and he can take him out.

Joshua just needs to fight the way he did vs Parker but throw slightly more right hands, and jump on him late, I want joshua to knock him out and ge can do in rounds 8-12, thats my bet.

Also i just watched klitschko vs povetkin again and though wlad did use a bit sketchy tactics vs povetkin he absoloutley mauled him and beat the **** out of him.

Joshua shouldnt be shy about throwing his weight around if povetkin does get close as hes even stronger than klitschko.

I think that this will play out very similar to the AJ v Takam fight but with a far more conclusive late stoppage

Cant believe some people have Povetkin winning this lol.
I wonder if they the same people who said Parker would beat him?

AJ is going to Knock Povetkin out in 9 rounds.

They’ll be the same people who discredit the win once Povetkin gets KTFO.
