Zhang would have made sense if he was fighting next month. Considering he's only fighting once per year he should be lining up Wilder or Joyce imo. Zhang would be a waste of his annual appearance.

Zhang is basically another Wilder (la imited fighter that carries great power) but with much better defence and chin. Zhang wouldn't be amongst AJ top 5 opponents but would make the likes Fury and Whyte top 5 opponents and would be amongst Joyce and Wilder top 3 opponents. I'd prefer AJ to fight Hunter, Hrgovic Bakole or Joyce than Zhang next.

If he fancies going off on an "AJ world tour" and wants to earn a few quid in China then Zhang is the perfect opponent. He'll take him out inside 6-7 rounds as well.
Fury Whyte was a bout between an undefeated legend and a bloke who had lost once in seven years who was deserving of his shot. The bout was dross because Fury is a legend and it’s tough to be competitive against him. Ask Klitschko.
Similar comparisons between him and the thread mentioned Zhang. As stated, both limited fighters (although Wilder more limited) that carry a lot of power. Wilder is just extremely overrated considering the lack of quality opponents he has beaten. even the biggest Wilder fans would admit he's an extremely flawed boxer.
