does gomez poseses the tools to beat some of the best fighters in his division? I feel that gomez is an above average fighter but nothing special, he may have a huge heart but we'v all see how TV can fool us (cough cough peter manfredo) as much as i like him, i'v got to say theres been few notable people who's he's fought, and he has a poor KO percentage, if you look closely at some of his recent fights he hasnt scored a proper KO, some of the stoppages where premature. Furthermore he could only manage a draw against an averagish Jesse Feliciano

He's mediocre. There are dozens of superior fighters in his weight class but don't get his exposure or chances because of the contender. Hey, im happy someone is making there paper, but he''ll never even be top 10 WW, yet he'll be richer than 90% of them. Gatti WILL KO him

Now, Feliciano did beat Vince Phillips and Delvin Rodriguez immediately before and after the Gomez fight, so that isn't really a terribly ugly blotch.

I think Gomez is good enough to beat some contenders and be competitive with some elites, but he won't ever be an all-time great or somesuch.

He's a tough kid, but he doesn't have nearly enough to beat the top in the division. In fact, I think Gatti will beat him.
