Nooooo, Tyson wouldnt do that would he? He wouldnt claim to eat peoples children or bite peoples ears, or even **** somebody. For **** sake take a look at the 2 of them. Cant you see the irony for your hatred? You still refer to him as Clay for christsake!!! And for the record, i dont dislike iron mike, im just using him as a barometer to point out YOUR hypocrisy

I dont care what the documentary says, he was not middle class. Your from England and im not far from you so we both know what middle class means over here, upper-end schools and white-collar jobs, and theres no way in this wide wide world that a guy who paints signs is deemed as middle class. Have you seen the house he was brought up in? Not a shanty town by no means but certainly not a middle class house, unless in America it has a different meaning to over in the UK and Ireland, which i doubt.

ali fans are going to kill me here but he really was a dumb bloke he was used by the muslims and was so dumb he could not see it, loads of his most famous quotes are not really his words but lines that were fed to him by others.he was a racist but claimed to hate racism ,called into question frazier's and others integrity as black men simply in some cases because they did not hold the same views as himself without thought for their families and the affect it would have on their children which is pretty horrible and not the actions of a peace loving man of conscious. as with most people age has a mellowing and an awakening affect and perhaps in the years since his fighting days he has become a better person and has been trying to correct the wrongs with his charitable works , he would not be the first or last man to attempt this

But, those who criticize him for his previous cruel actions, should not be chastised

Its funny I was right about the trend in seeing people who dont live in this country having a problem with Ali and racism.

And Mr Butt, if Ali is a dumb bloke, then what does that make us? He has saved lives, inspired people, and won three world championships. All we do is armchair discuss lives like his, and dedicate a lot of our time to it. If hes dumb, then the real joke is on us.

 

i have not said i am smarter than him once have i reznick, and he was obviously manipulated by those religious people around him perhaps young naive and impressionable may of been a better way of putting it, oh and by the way i have saved the odd life or two

When he was "manipulated" by those people, he was less than 22 years old man. 22. He was also fighting for the heavyweight belt, and had the entire mafia threatening him to do what they told him to do. He cant make the most clear of decisions under those circumstances. Sure, 50 years later, in hindsight it's easy to say what he should have done.

Plus I think we all disagree with those wacky black muslims. But guess what, the mafia would still be controlling fighters like the Klitschko's, Tyson, Lewis, and all the other great fighters we have had recently, if it werent for the nation of islam. Thats something to keep in mind...

yeah i appreciate all Ali's humanitarian works but like i said perhaps with age and the awakening that brings he may be in some way trying to right some wrongs of his youth to feel more at peace with himself being a religious man

In 1940's - 1950's Kentucky,the Clay family were classified as BLACK middle class,which was not the same as middle class as we know it. Young Cassius' background was hardly comfortable,financially. Even though the likes of Frazier,Foreman and Tyson came from poorer backgrounds.

 

Like a lot of young blacks from that period,Ali's views were a reaction to the racism he and others were subjected to. Nobody's saying he was right,least of all Muhammad nowadays,but I can certainly understand it.
