Ali couldn't win without neck holding. Butterbean had no neck.
    Butterbean obvious winner.

The flip side to this logic is that Bean wouldn't be able to land more than 1 punch at a time due to the massive speed/skill discrepancy. And nobody is KOing Ali with 1 punch outside of a freak occurrence. Ali will be outlanding him 4-5 punches to 1 every single round while boxing circles around him. I would daresay Ali stops Bean by the 6th round if he really wanted to.

As for the neck, you do realize Chuvalo had a very short neck with a strong bulky build and Ali had no trouble clinching him? He even goaded Chuvalo into throwing vicious body shots mid-clinge to prove a point. If Chuvalo got schooled just imagine how bad Bean would look. There are other strong bullish short necked fighters Ali beat such as Bonavena. Ali had a hard time clinching and keeping Bonavena off of him, yet he managed to both outbox and stop him.

Imagine Butterbean using Turkish oil wrestling strategies, but with melted butter instead. Iron chin+buttered skin+superb punching power=literally unstoppable.

Pre-fight, Ali would bellow: “Time to trim the FAT!!” or “Wait til I get Son of The Acorn in the ring!”.

Ali will take the aerobic king Bean into the deeper waters (= half way through the first round) and then let Mr Bean have it.

The only issue might be if Bean’s complete butter body rub somehow works it way into Ali’s eyes (ala rd 5, Miami) - especially if it isn’t salt reduced butter - which is likely since it is Butter Bean after all.

The number of rounds here is key. If it's a real number then Ali wins, if it's an imaginary number, then it's anyone's fight, and if it's a complex number then it starts to get tricky.

One Christmas morning my family piled around the tv as I unwrapped the new Knockout Kings boxing game. I was beyond excited so I told the family I'd start with an easy fight. I'd be Ali and I'd make the computer Butterbean.

Very first punch of the fight was a right by Butterbean that landed right on me and Ali's chin. Ali goes down hard. Ref immediately waives it off. Whole family is laughing at me, including my grandma.

Always great to remember that memory.

That’s hilarious Mike. That game should’ve self destructed in 10 seconds for its impudence!

I bought my son one of those Fight Night(?) games.

He elected to be Jake Lamotta, but a super buff version via the gym facility in the game.

No matter, I chose Sonny Liston…thinking, little does the poor kid know.

Well, yeah, his “size me up” Lamotta beat the living sh*t out of my Liston and he loved every minute of it. LOL.
