American vs. European titles

    Why is it on most boxing news websites, fighters that aren't on the world stage from Europe are discussed rather more frequently compared with American fighters at the same level? People like George Groves and James DeGale who've held regional titles...I suppose I'm just wondering why their NABO/NABF counterpart title holders aren't quite as widely known. Is it a general decline of the sport in America or are the British, Commonwealth and European titles just valued more within the sport?

    Valued more and they tend to have the better fighters fighting for them.

    They made so many regional belts here

    they used to be more prestigious

    No like when Ali wasnt world champ he fought a lot as NABF

    then they made USBA NABO and so on and so forth just too many regional belts

    it allows guys to get a a regional belt and avoid each other

    1 national belt means top contenders fight for the only belt

    Yeah I think the second Ali/Frazier was for a NABF title. It reminds me of the explosion of global sanctioning bodies...you'd have thought someone might have noticed that more than one sanctioning body created problems at national level so wasn't likely to be any better on the world stage haha.
