amount of sparring

How much sparring to you guys that compete do?

A: How long are the rounds?
B: How many rounds?
C: How many times per week?

I have an amature I am working with, well a few but one who is prepairing for his second fight, I spar him about 4-6 rounds three mins each round, three times a week.

 

A: How long are the rounds?
3 min with 1 min rest
B: How many rounds?
well the most i ever did was 20 and the average for my gym is aroudn 15
C: How many times per week?
i have only sparred 4x before but once in a few weeks im going to start sparring 3-4x a week

 

4 people wait around the ring 1 gets in and spars for 2 mins with 30 seconds rest in between against the other 3 one at a time, then we rotate whos in so that makes 6 rounds altogether and I spar 2-3 times a week

 

i spa 4X a week but sometimes 1 is just body work

 

i spar everyday 8 rounds. making exceptions every now and then. people say im gonna burn myself out but as ling as i feel good

 

I usually do around 6 for myself, however, I am a good sparring partner since I have good stamina, am hard to hit, and make the person work. This means my trainer has often had me do 12 rounders working with different people. I've gone up to 15 once actually.

 

rounds are 3 minutes, arent they all 3 minutes?

You only sparred 4 times so far but you already did 20 3 minute rounds .... :think

I don't compete but I spar three times a week, usually around 5 or 6 rounds.

 

HAHA rdj i noticed that too, it cracked me up.

 

I misunderstood his comment to be fair. He said the most he sparred in a week was 4 times. But still, he's pretty new to boxing so I don't believe for a second he'll last 20 consecutive rounds.

 

I saw that too and gave him the benefit of the doubt that he meant 20 rounds in a week.

 

The reason I ask is because I don't get much sparring. I only have my coach to spar with and he's not supposed to be sparring because of his eye or something, but I can't hit for **** so it's ok.

But I'm getting ready for a tournament so I've been sparring at least 4-8 rounds a day for the last week. I was just curious how much people did on a regular basis.
