Lateef was Tarver's 'equal' in the eyes of the judges. It would have been one thing had he been beaten, but he wasn't. He got the draw. I think he deserves his trinket. If Tarver was worthy, then Lateef proved just as worthy to represent.


Should/will Showtime ban Tarver? This will be a HUGE embarrassment and they can take the risk of having him do commentary anymore.

 

Nah. The need to ban him for using banned substances. Their credibility takes a hit if they don't.

Hardly the point. Under the circumstances I think he should get the belt because he was 'equal' and they will strip Tarver. Had Kayode lost then it would be a different story.

 

Getting to be a "zero tolerance" world. He is seen as their representative and he did this while 'on duty' so to speak as they were building him up and gushing all over him. I don't see how they can't at least shelve him for a year or two.

 

Yeah. Sorry, other threads about it. I'm just interested in what the org does with the trinket. Personally, I think they should award it to Lateef since he didn't 'lose' and given the circumstances.
