And I think its about time they started scoring points for effective body shots. Andrade did what you are supposed to do when a fighter uses the `ear muff` defense. Slide down and crack that body, nice clean body shots(somewhere `Smokin` Joe was nodding in approval).

Go back to making it like the pros, and amateur boxing will disappear for real. The IOC will remove it from the program and remove AIBA as a governing body. They're already going back to 3 3 minute rounds and changing the scoring from the current system to an accepted score system.

its the amateurs!! different league, different rules!...so stop comparing them and hoping they'd change for your taste. As if pro boxing is perfect.

He lost....fairly & squarely. I was rooting for the Korean. Andrade is an arrogant amateur in all respects. He climbed into the ring expecting an easy win. But left, ungraciously, as a poor sportsman. His exit from the ring, prior to the ref's declaration, was extremely damning for him!

Extremely damning? What does that mean.

He won, and he won't be back at the Olympics. So he's pretty much free to tell the AIBA and IOC to kiss his ass, which he did.

Just because he can, doesn't mean it's the right thing to do. Whether you agree with the decision or not, his opponent across from him didn't do **** to cause it and acting like a crybaby just because you don't give a **** what happens in the Olympics from here on out does a great job of taking the attention off of the other fighter.

It's alright to be pissed, but don't **** up the other guy's moment just because you disagree. That's selfish and it's a ***** move, point blank.

No, a ***** move is standing there and taking it and acting like it's ok, the **** that has been pulled this entire past week in the boxing. I was glad at least that Dan Campbell didn't try to condemn it when he talked to Jim Grey. He told him he didn't condone it, but he understood it and said that if the officials were going to screw the young guys over like this, then they shouldn't expect and respect from them in return.

Taking it for the whopping 10 seconds it takes to raise the other guy's hand before complaining? No, that'd have been showing some class in the face of adversity.

I'm not going to disagree with you about the scoring being screwed up and I can see why he'd complain. I just believe the way Andrade went about it was really disrespectful to his opponent, who didn't have jack **** to do with what his grudge is against.

But hey, it seems like the perfect addition to our official US Murphy's Law team of 2008- if it can go wrong, it will. And the judges aren't the only ones to blame for that, although I'm sure they'll just get scapegoated for everything.

They won't be the only ones complained about. The coaching staff I can't see not going bye bye after this ****ing disaster. It's hard to describe what an embarassment this is. We had enough talent to bring in 3-5 medals and then this happens. :patsch

I expect some massive house cleaning after the end of competition and some serious changes in procedure after this is all done.
