The ref had to fix in the whole time. He was warning Andrade for holding when Bute was initiating the hold. He was warning Andrade for head butts when Bute was the one trying to headbutt in the clinch. He twice stopped Andrade when he was starting to fight on the inside with Bute. He ruled a blatant push a knockdown. To top it off he pulled that terrible delay count move on Andrade at the end.

Then the ******* has the nerve to say Andrade cost himself the victory. The truth is when Buth landed on the ropes with his head down and then was repeatedly punched in the face with no means to defend himself, the fight should have been stopped. The fight also could have been stopped when Bute hit the ground and his eyes were glazed and he didn't know where he was.

I feel so sorry for Andrade, he was robbed.

I feel bad for both of them. Andrade wasn't given the chance to win at the end, and the ref's action guarantee that 75% of the boxing world will now consider Bute to be a confirmed *****, when in fact, he fought a masterful fight for eleven rounds.

Immediate rematch in Vegas or AC. Seems to me like a good way to kick off '09.

:good from now on Bute will be known as the ko champ, the champ who got ko'ed and defended his belt in the same figth. Not even Ottke did that!
I'm not blaming Canada or Bute, but the referee, shame on him.

I'm back from my friend's place.

I still can't believe the ref disgraced the the sport of boxing like that. It is a slap in the face of the boxing fans in Montreal. We worked so hard to gain credibility and he took it away in a heart beat.

Congrats to Andrade AND Bute who both fought their hearts out and gave us a great fight.

    **** the damn referee!!!

Tu dis vrai Maxime, notre crédibilité en mange un coup, et c'est vraiment dommage, car on est une province de boxe. C'est dommage.

Seriously the ref did no one a favor. The hate over the result will spill unto Bute wether his fans like it or not.

Whats even worse is the crowd cheering. :patsch:patsch

Even Chavez JR(Vanda) got booed and Chavez SR(Whitaker) was greeted with silence in their undeserved wins(though JR might have actually pulled off the win)

This is all nonsense. The Ref clearly wanted Bute to win. Why did he even bother looking over his shoulder to see what Andrade was doing? The first time he looks he doesn't even say anything! Then he looks over again and starts yelling at him. Nothing Andrade was doing should have even caught the ref's attention. His obligation is to the count. Bute was up at 9 or 10 (i timed it) but he was leaning in the corner. 23 seconds after he was knocked down he is STILL leaning in the corner and the ref touches his gloves and deems him fit to continue. He never asked him any questions or asked Bute to move toward him. If Bute stumbled to his corner 23 seconds after being knocked down, why would ANYONE assume he was ready to fight at 10 seconds? He was OUT ON HIS FEET and the ref didn't even bother to check even after Bute spent the last minute of the round bouncing around the ring, not throwing punches. There is zero excuse for this and the ref was clearly biased from the first round on.

And for those who didn't see the whole fight, Andrade was clearly pushed down by Bute, not knocked down. They showed 3 replays and it was clear as day to the announcers and everyone i watched the fight with.
