I am a Devon Alexander fan but would like to congratulate Andreas Kotelnik for his winning performance. What a great fight he fought! Skilled, controlled yet exciting, and he showed boxing is not about volume for victory, but sweet science. It's pretty terrible that he didn't get the paper belts, but those are just part of the official system that robbed him, he earned the people's champion status and that's coming from the masses not the bosses.

Andriy! Don't let this incident let you down! Keep up with your great work and with this attitude and skill level, you'll find plenty of success in the future! I look forward to your next fight.

    RESPECT!

He earned himself another big fight, assuming that they won't make a rematch and instead go right to Bradley/Alexander.

Kotelnik vs Judah or Ortiz would be nice since the big three will all have late 10/early 11 fights confirmed soon.

Andreas "Evil Ukrainian" FTW! Would love too see him rematch with Maidana. Their first fight was priceless, top of the 5 2009, too bad not many people have seen it, very underrated fight.

He has a new fan in me after last night. Hope he gets another big fight on HBO... Maidana rematch, Ortiz, Judah, whoever. He is definitely in the top 5 at 140.

I too am a fan of Alexander and boy was that a fight though my man looked bad. Much props to Kotelnik he really was more agressive than he was versus Khan and it paid off.

Can you imagine if he fought Bradley.

    His resume would consist of

    Khan
    Alexander
    Maidana
    Bradley

    insane, the man fights everyone.

If he didn't get robbed last night he would now have Alexander and Maidana on his resume. That is 2 of the top 4 fighters. Heck, he could be #1 based on that resume. All of that is taken away from him because he got robbed :-(

And to think that this guy was called "Eurobum" when Khan beat him, shows you how much people actually watch matches instead of getting their facts from boxrec

It's the Year of the so called "Eurobums"

But all joking aside Kotelnik was impressive last night, he showed strong defense and great timing on his punches. He deserves a high pay fight.

He'll travel to do it, too. M'baye in France, Witter in England, Alexander in St. Louis. Kotelnik may have been based out of Germany for awhile, but he's a global fighter. If the Maidana rematch is made and he's got to go to Marcos' backyard in Argentina to take it, there's no doubt he'll do it.

I just hope King doesn't shelf him for a year or two like he did to Adamek.

Kotelnik is the freaking man. I hope he continues getting his props here after the initial hype from the fight dies down. His win over Maidana keeps looking more and more impressive after every guy Maidana knocks out.

Not to mention, he handed Gavin Rees his only loss.
