People is it just me or is anyone else sick of Andy Raymonds voice on Fox?? His fake tan and whitened teeth always taking home more money than the fighters. He knows nothing about boxing and I dont watch Aussie boxing because of him. Not happy because Aussie boxing is great.
Agree mate, he is a ****wit. I would rather ex fighters commentate, just look at the footy, besides Ray ****** they are all ex players. It would be a good transition for our boxers and give them a career path after boxing
briggs was the best but he blew his chance, fox should offer Meehan a job, danny green / mundine duo when they retire just having them on there alone would boost ratings
that's your first post? u don't watch the boxing cause of andy? I don't believe u. the modern televisions have a very advanced feature on them, its called the volume. yes he can carry on a bit, but at least he is not dull.
Bit bloody harsh mate. If people knew how much Andy pushes boxing behind the scenes, they might be a bit less critical. Television hierarchy are not easy to influence. Sure he does it to get the work, but it works for us as well. As for his knowledge, he has to commentate for his viewers not gym change rooms. As for giving the job to a fighter, he is a professional commentator, it what they do. Fatty Vautin was a League legend but he finally drove me away from the Footy show & anywhere else he bobbed up. Andy is always pulling in, & even grooming ex fighters. Chris McCullen is hardly from the lost boys tent. His little quips & plugs often push the envelope & he protects the game as much he can from the inevitable & occasional brain explosions. He does alright IMO. :good
andy brings energy and excitement. its not easy to find people like that. u can get ex boxers who r articulate but lack charisma.
it'd be great if we can bring boxing back more main stream, on tv but to do this u need a danny green and a mundine to be involved to provide commentary and do a side show
