Indeed. Besides the head clash, Zappa's face had all the swelling and bruising. I personally judged it a majority to Angulo. Zappa put in a great fight but still needs a lot of work.

Hopefully Zappa will learn alot from this fight otherwise he will be exposed on the next one! Tommy & the rest of the corner need to get there act together. Unorganised and too much panic from what I saw...

Watched the fight. Not sure who commentated the fight in Australia but the the American ones started becoming anti-zappa about 1/2 way through the fight when they realised this prospect wasnt as hot as he was blown up to be.

Zappa has some power, but he got discouraged and lost for answers when he noticed they weren't hurting Angulo as much as he'd hoped.

What really stuck out though, as patrick has already mentioned, was the corner work. Absolutely terrible. Where was the cut man?? That was a big cut and someone really needed to tend to that cut as soon as Lenny's ass hit that chair, but unfortunately that 'somebody' was the trainer himself. Instead it was only tended to at the end of the break with a bit of vaso and an occasional cotton bud. The trainer was therefore concentrating on cleaning Lenny up instead of giving him some instructions as to how to beat Angulo. And then he should at least remain somewhat calm. The guy was f*kn shaking from adrenaline... yelling around at everyone who was totally disorganised as if this was the first time they had ever had a losing fighter with a cut. All in all terrible work. In addition I wasnt sure whether he was representing australia or italy. the italian flag was being waved around everywhere including his mouthguard. only saw one brief flash of the aussie flag.

As for who won, IMO it was a close fight. I did give the last 2 rounds to LZ, so it could easily have gone either way. But a 116-111 score to LZ was rediculous.

Of course the Showtime judges were biased towards Angulo. Even though Zappa is signed by Shaw and GSP is cosy with Showtime, getting next to all the tv dates on the network. Nah, the Showtime crew were really pushing for a Venezuelan kid who had 6 losses, and had lost his last two. The kid who took the fight on two weeks notice. Angulo was worth so much to the network, they had to spruke him, even though a win wasn't going to get him a belt. Angulo was to be Showtimes next Gatti - he just need some hype, even at 29 years of age.

    OR how about this....

Maybe the crew just called it how they saw it. Like, objectively.

    maybe???

How did you score it mate?

I gave Zappa rounds 1, 2 and 3....round 7.....round 11 and 12...plus the point off made it quite even...its close mate....6 to 5 Zappa with 1 round being a draw

i scored the same rounds as ash, which would make it even for me, bar the 1 point deduction therefore 114-113
