How is that a disaster? TR does the same with the WBO. They get their upcoming fighter a vacant WBO belt and then quickly move them up in weight, only for the next upcoming fighter to get the now vacant title.
TR has held the WBO belt at 126 since 2010, when JuanMa picked it up. Salido beat JuanMa. Mikey Garcia beat Salido. Salido got the vacant title vs gay boy Cruz. Loma was given a BS trinket in his debut so he could enter the rankings. Loma was given a title shot for the vacant belt vs Russell Jr. Valdez beat some racoon looking mofo for the vacant belt. Stevenson got the vacant belt vs someone. Next up was Navarrete vs someone. Then Robeisy took the vacant belt. Most of the guys I listed were TR guys. The ones who weren´t were lambs for slaughter, with the exception of GRJ. (Jr. and Loma did not deserve that vacant title shot)
Boxing does throw up title fights once in a while where the winner becomes champion and the belt is immediately dropped for two others to fight over. It's not usually agreed in advance though? It's a very weird fight where the crowd know whoever lifts the belt is going to be champ for about 5 mins... Brits call WBO the Warren Boxing Organisation given how often their decisions seem to coincide with Frank Warren's objectives, but on the Mannix pod recently it was 'What Bob Orders' which works as well...

The for the next 7 years, only Top Rank boxers fought for the title, with two exception. Cotto, Clottey, Pacquiao, Mosley, Bradley Jr., Marquez, Algieri and Rios were all signed to Top Rank. The only ones who weren´t were Mayweather and Provodnikov. I might be wrong about Ruslan. From 2009 to 2016... that's ****ing insane. And after that, Jessy Vargas who was at the time signed to TR, picked up the vacant title in 2016. What followed was Vargas vs Pacquiao and Pacquia vs Horn. After 2016 is when boxers signed to other promoters got a crack at that belt. Mainly because TR had no one to fight Bud.
