Ok, he is not as pathetic as the likes of Cotto but what is going on? Boxers used to fight until it was over. What a shame.

They are prize fighters and entertainers, not real gladiators fighting for their lives. Putting down a fighter because he decides he is unable to continue is complete ignorance.

Vitali punished him and broke his heart. So I guess he felt he was only gonna carry on getting a beating and perhaps was feeling those shots and knew he couldn't take much more and wanted to be spared the KO embarassment. He never even looked though like he was gonna go for broke.

I actually think he took less punishment than Cotto. Neither fighters are pathetic they have their health to look out for and should'nt put it on the line to satisfy ignorant internet warriors such as yourself.

He took much less punishment than did Cotto. This was far worse than Cotto quitting. At least Cotto hit the deck. Sam just flat out gave up. And he was the 'champ.'

    Ridiculous.

What the **** do you mean 'he's not as pathetic as Cotto'.

    ****ing explain yourself.

I'd like to see you take right hands from Vitali Klitschko or Antonio Margarito.

Peter and Cotto are warriors, pretty much every boxer is.

I say give Sam Peter a break. Boxing is a brutal, punishing sport. Peter fought his best...if he decided it was best to throw in the towel, we shouldn't naysay him.

Exactly. If a fighter can't do it, is taking too much punishment and forfeits then big f*ckin deal. Not everyone enjoys getting punched in the face and losing Ricardo Mayorga style.
