Ricky needs a big opportunity right now aswell ........... a big win could end all his financial troubles too. And getting the belt in house would guarantee Crolla a shot when he's recovered. Big ask for Ricky going on his last few outings mind but I'd much rather see him get the shot than Kev.
Mitchell should step in. He's had a good run and deserves a shot. Crolla, depending on when he recovers can face the winner.
Nice if mitchell did get it. He has good boxing skills good power but seems a little fragile at world level
Gutted for Crolla... also heard he'd managed to grab hold of one of the scumbags the others turned round and whacked him over the head with a concrete block. Robbing a house first and foremost + also at Christmas, 2 on 1 with a weapon... really brave. Wishing Crolla a speedy recovery, he's one of boxing's good guys and one of the most improved fighters in the country over the last 2 years. Get Curtis Woodhouse to track the ****ers down.. then let Joe Gallagher know, the ****ers will get a knock on the door from Gallaghers gym and get a good hiding - what they deserve.
Problem is non of the Matchroom Lightweights would beat Abril if they stepped in, not because he is a great champ as he is not but because they are not currently world class. Campbell will be world class, to early for him obviously, but ironically enough he would beat both Ricky or Mitchell at the moment if they had to fight imo.
A damn shame that Crolla may not be able to realize his dream of fighting for the title.Win or lose he deserved the shot.Sometimes things are just not meant to be,but in Crolla's case,it would have been just such a feel good story of a genuine nice guy possibly finishing first.
He would unfortunately end up even worse as anything goes on the street. Even big AJ could not stop a couple of blades or even worse a bullet penetrating the flesh. Unfortunately these types of incidents will continue to become more frequent if the government takes no action to fully address the percentage of society with no job together with very low incomes and/or drug problems. Let's hope Crolla's career is not over and he makes a good recovery.
