watched anthony fowler yesterday and today as he finally clinched qualification to the olympic games in rio later this year, but what is up with him just now?

i know people that have trained with him at the gb centre in sheffield and everybody says the same "he is first in and last out of the gym, the fittest guy on the gb squad" but in both his fights i watched he tired very badly:huh:huh

could it be that he is now struggling with the weight and the further on in a tournament he struggles to keep his weight down:huh:huh

or could it be that he is struggling with his food etc over in turkey:huh:huh

watched him as a junior and senior and especially at the commonwealth games in glasgow and he always looked strong and his third round was his strongest one but over the last 2 fights i noticed that he is struggling in the last round. something isn't right does anyone know why:huh:good

His not that good the French fight was just simply too good for him.

And he always had an exucuse when he gets beat

Eddie heart was even making fun of him on twitter yesterday when he lost

i know about his sulking when he gets beat :patsch:patsch but I've watched him from when he was 12-13 years old and there just seems to be something just not quite right at the minute, he is usually the one pushing the pace and finishing strong. he has never been the most talented fighter in the world but his engine and work rate has never come into question, until now:think:good

Well one reason is that French fight is very strong and fit and was always going to outlast fowler. Maybe he was still tired from that in the second bout

Hearn twetted ' fowler lost today in his semi final, and is blaming the toilet roll holder in his hotel bathroom for the lose ' the tweet got taken down, fowler deleted it from his twitter haha

I thought it was a fake Hearn account that made the joke about Fowler, EddieHearns.

Fowler was really beat up from his previous fights going into the semi-final, by all accounts his quarter final was an all out war, he got a split decision there. Looked like he had no energy in the semi-final and the French guy was too much for him

Does enjoy a moan when things don't go his way, but I'd 100% bank on him being signed up by Hearn after Rio.

You're not the sharpest tool in the box are you?

It was a fake Eddie Hearn account. The real Eddie Hearn actually congratulated Fowler and then Fowler responded by wishing good luck on the Matchroom boxers fighting tonight.

no I'm scottish but have watched him at the gb's and at international tournaments i have attended.:good:good

i was simply asking if anyone knew a bit more about the reasoning for someone who is the fittest member of the gb team suddenly is starting tp struggle with doing 3 rounds.:good:good

now my experience coaching boxers at tournaments is that when they are struggling with weight that they start the tournament well but start to fade as it goes on because of having to keep taking excess weight off :good:good

if weight is not the issue then i wanted top know if anyone had any other reasoning or knowledge why :huh

maybe you are part of team "negativity" when it comes to our boxers :patsch

i personally think he will fight for a world title when he turns over but it will be more the fact he trains as hard as he does rather than his actual skills. he won't be a ko artist but more of a grinder :good:good
