Anyone remember Floyd Havard?

    I think Floyd came out of the Penyrheol ABC (a stone's throw from the house I grew up in) same as Colin Jones.

    Just been looking through his record now and he was a British Champion and lost fighting John John Molina for the World Title.

    I never actually saw him fight, but when I was 18 a friend of mine who was also 18 was about to turn pro, (he didn't in the end as he had an accident at work that damaged his hand) he did some sparring with Floyd and I watched the video - Floyd was beating the **** out of my mate:lol:

    Anyone remember him?

    Too right I do. He was on TV all the time (ITV FightNight IIRC), good boxer but not much power. I THINK his hands let him down in the end and he had to retire (might be wrong on that though)?

    You are probably right as looking at his record it seems he was British Champ when he retired.
