Armstrong v Sanchez

Hi Buddy.
Not sure this match as come up before, good pic, my first instinct is that Sanchez would be too big, and too strong, for the I think, smaller Armstrong, also not sure the perpetual forward style of Henry, would bode well against the rather heavy hitting Mexican, for sure Sanchez would be landing hard accurate uppercuts to the prone to bruising, and bleeding face that was Armstrong's, again there has been a few threads over the years that dispute his one punch power, I am in the volume punching group, so if you factor in Sals granite chin, and the lack of true one punch power, hard to see how Henry can go 12/15 rounds without the punishment he would have taken not having a negative effect, Lopez who possessed a thunderous right cross, failed to make any impression on the Sanchez chin, so all things considered I see a brave but battered Armstrong being rescued by a caring ref, somewhere in the latter third of a 15 rounder, whilst a unmarked Sanchez looks fresh as a daisy, just my opinion.

I would take Sanchez without hesitation. I've always felt Armstrong to be too one dimensional.

 

Pat Cowdell dropped a split to Sanchez over 15 rounds. A rookie Azumah Nelson gave Sanchez a good go of it. Rocky Garcia went 15 with Sanchez. Roberto Castanon saw the 10th round against Sanchez. That was peak Sanchez.
Which one of those guys measures up to Henry Amstrong?
Sanchez would be too big? Armstrong won the welterweight title while weighing 133 pounds. He fought the middleweight champion to a draw.
You can argue that Armstrong was the heavier guy at least because he was fighting in the low 130s before getting to 126 to win the title and almost immediately began fighting at 135.
There is nothing in their careers that suggests that Sanchez could beat Henry Armstrong.

 

Salvador Sanchez wouldn't be too big, too strong, too fast or too anything for Hank.
