My favorite MMA fighter of all time. I was a bit shocked when he retired last night. Definitely gonna miss him fighting again.
:verysad I was too brah... even my missus was upset :-( BJ is one of them guys that is cool! If you've not got his book then I'd recommend getting a copy for sure! I'm glad that he is thinking of his family though. I wouldn't want him to end up like some of the guys that hang on for too long. I won't mention them out of respect :rasta Lynchburg
Yeah... It's really good. Well worth reading. You can pick it up for less than a fiver! Lynchburg
I recently got his career on video, and absolutely love watching his fights.. Joe Stevenson, Diego Sanchez, Sean Sherk, Din Thomas, Caol Uno I, Gomi, Ken Flo, and the trilogy with Matt Hughes.. I truly wish I would have got in on this party earlier, and seen a lot of these fights live. Still have some catching up to do, the book is a must have :thumbsup
I can understand BJ wanting to retire as he said "I dont want to go home to my family looking like this"
BJ has been in this sport for a loooong time. He's never really needed MMA as his quite well off. His served this sport exceptionally well. I hope he enjoys his retirement.
good fighter however i do love it when i see a good bj penn fight, but nick diaz is now the scariest dude in welterweight.
BJ will be forever a champion. He is the 1% that makes you not just think about the fight, his walkout music, attitude and his t-shirts make you think about yourself and where you come from. For me it makes me think of what my family went though in Belfast. Take it easy brah! Lynchburg
What makes me smile is that he will be forever compensated for his career on the street, and in the household. Someday, those two daughters will take care of him.
He was made out of pure talent only down side is that he didnt use up his full potential but he was always delivering and was always good fun time to watch
