I forgot about those 2, would be no point doing a tournament and leaving those guys out in the cold either

Yeh it would be like doing the super 6 without froch, kessler, bute and ward.

You probably couldn't even find any 6 people would be happy with in the Bantamweight division, it's too stacked a division. I wouldn't have Vic in there, he's popular but he's probably not in the top 6 IMO.

Isn't Koki Kameda a Bantam now? How could anybody on ESB support a tournie without him.

you could do any 8 man tournement and there would be guys left out. pretty sure Koki and his borthers are still in the flys.

still would be happy to see it as it would mean 3 quality fights.

Bob Arum has said he would be up for a single elimination tournement and would have montiel vs donaire as a 1st round.

“Montiel and Donaire were invited,” Arum told the Los Angeles Boxing Examiner. “But I told Showtime I was only interested in an elimination tournament."

so lets jsut have an 8 man elimination and get the winner of cermano/moreno and hasegawa involved.

Do you have the link to that article sounds like a good read. If Bob is telling the truth (which I doubt) I can't say that I disagree with him. We would still be guaranteed 7 great fights and the winner would be a big star I think Showtime should compromise and make a push for it to happen.

Montiel and Donaire ain't agreed then? Shame, but at least at looks they'll fight each other anyway, so no biggie IMO.

Khaokor Galaxy>>>>Any Bantam mentioned so far in this thread.

Thanks gotta say I do agree with him personally I feel that a straight knock out tournament is a better format for Boxing even more so at a less glamerous weight like 118. It doesn't stop any of the other fighters that get knocked out taking on the winner after the tournament.

I hope this happens 118 is probably the most stacked division at the moment there are at least 20 legit world class boxers at the weight and it would be nice to see the best taking on each and another fighter being crowned the no1 legit fighter at a weight with a stacked resume.

agreed 118 i stacked. you could do an 8 man tournament no problem and the bantams fight quite regularly so would get in a year no worries.

I really hope that Showtime reconsider and go back to Bob with an 8 man tournament idea I think it would work better at 118. I guess we can think wishfully.
