Just heard on the news ( didn't see it already posted). 34yr old Hall fighting early next year. Says he's wanted to do it for years and seemed very serious about it.

    How's he go?

Stop talking Barry and just get in the ring!

He shouldn't have too much trouble working his way through our fringe heavyweights. It would be wise for him to avoid Ben Edwards and Alex Leapai for a while though. But I think he could beat Sonny Bill Williams easily enough.

Good on him, he's made it very clear he doesn't want to be another ex-footy player sideshow like the others out there.

Barry was state amateur champ at bantamweight about 20 years ago apparently so there's some pedigree there

He said in today's paper that Danny Green has given him a couple of thrashings in sparring, so he's under no illusion re what he's up against

It'll be interesting to see how he goes. Might get to national level and that'll be about it for him. He's too old

and how is he going to do that? ex footballers get attention bcus they are high profile, Hall will be no different. He will have to start of like any other pro, work his way up with a steady increase in level. This means he will have to fight guys who many will calls bums, then it will turn into the so called sideshow.

It's good to here he's going pro after all the speculation since he finished up with the Swans over two years ago.

I hope he does well, but it'll be interesting what sort of path he will take. Will he try an accelerated program to get on the world circuit or whether he will take heaps of tune of fights and be happy to be a leading Australian level fighter.

I think he beats the **** out of Sonny Bill.

He has a boxing background and unlike other sports stars he actually all through his career kept in shape with Sparring sessions.

I feel after some here bagging **** on Barry see his technique will say and agree with if he fought Sonny Bill will KO the **** out of him.

Ive watched Sonny's Bills ****ing sideshow against a couple of guys who lets face it were ****ing not really Boxing guys.

When you think Barry think more Solomon Haumono type career and skills thats were i see him going.

I cringe at the STUPID comments Angelo "idiot" Hyder and also guys like Andy "he can BAAANNGGG" Raymond will say.

The guy will fight bums for about 3 yrs (on ppv of course) and make an absolute killing $$$$$$$$$. He will probably win the Aussie heavyweight title but you can do that by beating chumps anyway. Hopoate did it.

I won't be watching any of this nonsense.

As someone else said he will probably be decent similar to Haumono, but Haumono fought no one but chumps and Hall will do the same. It will be smoke and mirrors and the bogan league and AFL fans will lap it up with Danny Green/Idiot Hyder/Barry "senile" Michael and Andy "he can BANG" Raymond telling everyone how great he is.
