So Barry Hearn's Interview with Kugan revealed a lot of things. First the old man clearly states, Eddie Hearn is the boss and makes all the final decisions. Eventhough the old, demented man is still CEO of the Company and listed on Companies House as the Legal Owner of the Matchroom Trademark. And he just so happens to know every detail of the Joshua-Wilder saga Secondly he states, he would wait 2 years if he was in charge because of US PPV Projections- Hang on didn't Hearn say the sole reason why AJ rejected the $50M offer was because he wanted to "reward the British Fans"...The only way to increase US PPV Numbers is for Joshua to fight in the US against someone like Jarell Miller and fight Wilder in Las Vegas. Thirdly, Mr.Bipolar stated "in buisness you don't stand still" when he has just suggested for Joshua to stand still until Wilder shows ageing symptoms. He also somehow knows about Las Vegas T Mobile Arena dates for Wilder-Fury. Hang on Bazza during that same interview, he said he didn't care and it won't happen. These people treat us like we're BTEC Students. If you believe Eddie Hearn dosent take advice from Barry, you're deluded. Where do you think Eddie learnt his selling skills from...like father like son You just got your confirmation this fight ain't happening until 2020. Add to that Barry "Bipolar" Hearn even used Mayweather-Pacquiao as a template for Joshua-Wilder. LMFAO. That is how you know he's certainly on the whiplash. Mayweather and Pacquiao were Global Superstars, the last of a dying breed, were massive HBO and Showtime PPV Fighters making triple Joshua's figures and 10X more than Wilder. One loss from AJ or Wilder and that fight loses all it's cache and intrest. These people are scared sh*tless that Wilder will iron out Joshua COLD. That is the only possible conclusion i can draw. Which is sad, because i personally think Joshua will knock Wilder out within 6 rounds

It’s boring and been done to death. Neither side wanted it, both made offers, both received offers, zero contracts signed. Blame who you want, it doesn’t matter it’s still the fans getting ****ed no matter who’s responsible.

Have to say there is a lot of truth in the comments made by the OP. This is the second interview I have listened to Barry Hearn in the last 6 weeks (the first being with Costello/Bunce on the BBC Podcast). It’s impossible to make a case for the Hearns off the back of both of these conversations. On the BBC and on a few occasions in the IFL interview he says that they want to make the fight and have sent a contract to Wilder for $15m but have not got a response etc. Yet on the other hand saying that in order to increase the revenue from the fight and the key point being increase US PPV buys, they should do it in a 1-2 years. He also makes a jibe at Finkel for ‘knowing better’ than trying to make it immediately while also implying that it’s because they are underconfident in Wilder (which makes no sense). Hearn says it’s a $70m fight now and yet the offer to Wilder was $15. Is Wilder really going to sign for around a 20% cut when Parker got more than that?! I don’t want to get into the money talk but there is no way they want the fight now. I don’t think they are scared of Wilder at all I just think they are trying to maximise revenues. That’s fair enough not only does it kill the sport (see Mayweather v Manny) but it’s the lies and bullsh*t they put out in order justifying the delays that wind me up. For what it is worth, Wilder hasn’t got a great CV but I have no reason to doubt he doesn’t want the fight now. He signed to fight Povetkin in Russia, he fought Ortiz (I never thought that fight would go ahead and to be honest when it did I thought there was a good chance Ortiz would take a dive - he didn’t) and he is in the process of signing to fight Fury.
This stuff is all boring now- we know the Hearn’s are terrified of Wilder and we also know that Finkel was messing around to some extent. Assuming Wilder fights and beats Fury then the pressure on AJ/Hearn will be red hot to take the fight anyway. Fans are already asking questions and there ain’t much buzz for the Povetkin fight yet, so it will all play out accordingly.
To be fair the date is easy to work out if this fight is happening at the T-Mobile Arena, it can only be on 17th November, that is the only Saturday in November and December that doesn't have an event listed on the venues website.
Still makes no sense why they keep offering Wilder flat fees instead of a %. Especially when Hearn keeps playing tricks with how much he believes this fight will make.
It's the same reason they avoided talking percentages when making the Parker fight; he's lowballing them. £7m sounds better than 30%...
I don't see how that would work with Wilder, because i'm sure Al Haymon gives guidance or advice to Wilder. Haymon, Finkle would know if it's a lowball offer. Hearn ain't Einstien.
