Only subscribed to boxnation maybe a year and a half ago and think jones is brilliant didn't see much of him as a fighter but he seems a nice guy what is your take on him
Decent pundit and commentator. On top of that seems like a really nice bloke as well. I also have a feeling he would make a good coach.
He's probably my favourite boxing pundit. Find myself agreeing with everything he says. Was talking to him for a good bit in Belfast on Thursday there and he's a really decent bloke too.
He's grown on me - seems to know his stuff. I think he was a good fighter but only had 1 KO on his record!
Barry seems a nice guy, and is good for commentating, i do remember when Barry fought power puncher Acelino Freitas and i think Barry put him down. He lost the fight, but a good showing none the less.
Used to like the podcast, mainly for him but Bunce is really annoying me lately, so many different reasons.
Boxrec says ZERO KO's ha. But seriously i find him too biased towards feather fisted boxer types who fight similar to who he did i suppose. He gives too many close rounds to those types instead of the busier brawler type who happen to clearly win the rounds sometimes. Too biased when Brit fighters are involed as well usually. "I just preferred his work, it was classier, the other guy was a bit too wild". he says that a lot and a lot of the times its nonsense as the other guy clearly outworked him and landed the better shots. Seems a nice fella though.
I'm sick of Barry tbh he just comes across fake. You will hear him speak his mind more on the German cards, but when it's the UK bills it's different as he's more tactile always favoring the home fighter and having less of an opinion just in case he upsets anyone (promoters, trainers, fighters etc). IMO Barry wouldn't be out of place with those mincers on Sky. Honestly i'm just waiting on John Rawling telling him live on air to grow a pair ffs.
