    he fought 9 times in one month in 1916.

    whats the most fights in the space of a month by a boxer ?

    Tough, and maybe a little underrated. This is actually one of Dempsey's most impressive victories, considering that nobody else managed to ever KO him in the absurd amount of fights he had.

    George Carpentier KOd him, but both KOs had extenuating circumstances. Against Dempsey Levinsky had been working in the shipyards during WW1 and had little or no training for the previous few months. It was still one of Dempsey's more impressive wins. Against Carpentier there is a lot of rumor and circumstantial evidence that the fight was fixed. I tend to lean toward this explanation.

    Sorry, I misread, I thought you meant Dempsey was the only guy to EVER KO him, not KO him up to that point.

    1993? Now that is impressive. A true modern day warrior!

    And looking over his record, it wasnt a one off, he fought regularly, and successfully too. I now live in hope. Maybe one day will see another Harry Greb.
